Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Billing

All prospective clients receive a complimentary 15- to 20-minute phone or video call where we can discuss your project needs, and get better acquainted. After that, Suzette will provide a proposal and/or estimate, along with next steps, should you choose to proceed. Keep in mind, estimates are good for 30 days.

Should you wish to engage Suzette Garvey Creative's services, a 50% deposit is required to activate your project. Any remaining amount is due upon project completion at net 15 (within 15 days after the project's final invoice date). Checks and ACH direct banking deposits are accepted forms of payment. This eliminates credit card fees that would otherwise increase overall service costs.

I use project-based pricing because estimates take into account (1) your unique needs and (2) how long it takes me personally to complete it. I've been providing my services for such an extended amount of time that I'm quite efficient. Simply choosing a service based on a hourly rate doesn't give you all of the information, and there may be additional elements (e.g. website plug-ins, illustrations) that need to be rolled into an estimate. Plus, I continuously seek improvements and efficiencies in my work. That's just who I am. Lastly, there are times when I can engage fellow freelancers to help us stay within your budget.

No. I don't naturally gravitate toward retainer agreements, but I have used them in cases where clients preferred long-term marketing support (e.g., SEO, landing pages) that is billed on a monthly basis. This does give them a more regular spot on my calendar, as well. While such agreements are ideally renewed annually, a client may prematurely break the agreement with two weeks notice.

My updated business name is the result of me leaning into my creativity as a whole, after taking some time away from marketing in 2025 to exclusively develop my fiction writing skills. Additionally, it further differentiates me from a regional competitor with a name similar to my former business name.
